Yes. The Upwey Wishing Well is fully licensed to host civil ceremonies. Couples can choose to exchange their vows either in our elegant garden marquee or beneath our beautiful garden pergola, depending on the season and their preferred setting. All civil ceremonies are offered at a fixed fee of £350.

Yes. We’re happy to hold a future date for you on a provisional basis. A £500 reservation fee secures the date while you finalise your plans.

We provide a dedicated space for the arrival of the wedding car. For guests, parking is available at the church car park, located just 400 metres up the road from the Wishing Well. There is also additional roadside parking along Church Street directly outside the venue.

The Wishing Well offers two daytime seating options: our Tea Room can accommodate up to 65 guests, while our garden marquee seats up to 32, allowing for either part-day use or full-venue hire. In the evening, we can host an additional 50 guests, bringing the total evening capacity to 115.

We do not have a dedicated changing room at the venue; however, guests are welcome to use our general toilet facilities for any final preparations.

While we do not have on-site accommodation at Upwey Wishing Well, we have compiled a Preferred Suppliers List of excellent local hotels, B&Bs, and guesthouses to ensure your stay is comfortable. Please refer to this list for recommended options and book early.

We strongly advise guests to pre-book taxis for both their journey to and from the venue, as un-booked cabs are not readily available in the immediate Upwey area, especially later in the evening. Booking in advance ensures you have transport when needed.

Upon booking your wedding, we will ask you to provide a general theme or colour preference, which The Wishing Well team will use to dress both the wedding pergola and the wedding breakfast tables; if you wish to add anything personal to the tables, please let your Wedding Co-ordinator know. We invite all couples to introduce their own custom props and decorations, and to accommodate these elements, you have the flexibility to organise setup either on the evening preceding the wedding or the morning of the event, often utilising external co-ordinators, stylists, or family members for assistance, however, it is strictly required that any personal props left on-site overnight are packed up and collected promptly the morning after the celebration.
